Creating application categories

For more convenience when creating Application Startup Control rules, you can create application categories and use them when creating rules.

For example, you can create a "Work applications" category that covers the standard set of applications that are used at the company. If different user groups use different sets of applications in their work, a separate application category can be created for each user group.

To create an application category:

  1. Open Kaspersky Security Center Administration Console.
  2. Open the Advanced -> Application management -> Application categories folder in the console tree.
  3. In the workspace, click Create a category.

    This starts the Create User Category Wizard.

  4. Follow the instructions of the Create User Category Wizard.
