Configuring the trusted zone

At this step, you can create a trusted zone for the Light Agent for Windows component.

A trusted zone is a system administrator-configured list of files, folders, objects, and applications that Kaspersky Security does not monitor when active, i.e. a list of exclusions from protection and scanning.

The Exclusions window list contains the names of applications or names of application vendors that you can include in the trusted zone or exclude from it. The listed applications are used for administration and anti-virus protection of computer networks. Exclusions are applied to desktop and server operating systems.

You can configure the trusted zone settings in the Light Agent for Windows policy properties or in the Light Agent settings in the local interface of the application.

To configure the trusted zone:

  1. Select the name of the relevant application or vendor in the list.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Select the check box to the left of the name of the application or vendor if you want to include the vendor’s application or applications in the trusted zone.

If the check box is selected, files, folders, and processes recommended for these applications are included in the trusted zone, and the executable files of these applications are automatically added to the list of trusted applications.

    • Clear the check box to the left of the name of the application or vendor if you want to exclude the vendor’s application or applications from the trusted zone.

The Citrix EdgeSight, Citrix Profile Manager, Citrix Provisioning Services, Citrix XenApp, and Citrix XenDesktop check boxes are selected by default to improve performance of these applications. The full list of recommended exclusions can be viewed on the Citrix website.

In addition to the listed applications, by default the trusted zone includes applications recommended for desktop and server operating systems.

  3. To exclude applications recommended for desktop operating systems from the trusted zone, clear the Create recommended exclusions for desktop operating systems check box.
  4. To exclude applications recommended for server operating systems from the trusted zone, clear the Create recommended exclusions for server operating systems check box.

Go to the next step in the Installation wizard.
