Selecting the SVM image

At this step, select the file of the SVM image for deployment on the hypervisor. The SVM image file and the SVM image description file (in XML format) must be located in the same folder. If you are installing the Protection Server on different types of hypervisors, the SVM image files for each type of hypervisor and the SVM image description file must be located in the same folder.

To specify the SVM image, click Browse and in the window that opens select the SVM image description file (in XML format).

After a file has been selected, the field to the left of the button displays the full path to the file and its name. The Wizard automatically selects the required SVM image file:

• A VHDX file for deployment on a Microsoft Windows Server (Hyper-V) hypervisor
• An XVA file for deployment on a Citrix XenServer hypervisor
• An OVA file for deployment on a VMware ESXi hypervisor
• A RAW file for deployment on a KVM hypervisor or on a Proxmox hypervisor

The following information is displayed in the lower part of the window:

• Application name
  

  The name of the application installed on the SVM.

• SVM version
  

  SVM image version number.

• Vendor
  

  The vendor of the application installed on the SVM.

• Publisher
  

  The publisher of the SVM image file. Deploy SVMs using image files published by Kaspersky Lab.

• Description
  

  Brief description of the SVM image.

• Virtual drive size
  

  The size of disk space required for deployment of the SVM in the data storage of the hypervisor.

• Results of the validation of the SVM image file for each type of hypervisor. It is recommended to validate the SVM image. To do so, click Validate. If the image file gets modified or corrupted while being transmitted from the publisher to the end user or if the image format is not supported, the wizard shows an error message.

  If image file validation was not performed, the line shows Validation not performed.

If validation of the SVM image file ends with an error or if the Publisher field displays a value that is different from AO Kaspersky Lab, use a different image for SVM deployment. Repeat the download of the archive containing the necessary SVM deployment files from the Kaspersky Lab website.
