Update application databases
Kaspersky Internet Security downloads updates from Kaspersky update servers, which are HTTP servers where Kaspersky Internet Security updates are regularly published.
Note: An Internet connection is required to download updates from the update servers.
By default, Kaspersky Internet Security periodically checks for updates on Kaspersky update servers. If new updates are available on a server, Kaspersky Internet Security downloads them in the background and installs them on your computer.
Start an update of Kaspersky Internet Security
- Open the main application window and click
.
The Update window opens.
- Click Update.
The application checks for updates. If updates are available, the application downloads and installs them on your computer.
You can change the way Kaspersky Internet Security updates the application databases. By default, the application updates databases automatically.
Enable/disable automatic downloads of Kaspersky Internet Security database updates
- In the menu bar, click the application icon and choose Preferences.
The application preferences window opens.
- On the Update tab, in the Databases section, select/deselect the Download updates automatically checkbox.
You can view the results of completed update tasks in the Reports window.
