About Internet use monitoring
With Internet use monitoring, you can find out what websites your child has visited and restrict their access to websites with unwanted content. You can use the default settings (based on your child's age), or you can adjust the settings according to the needs of your child.
Internet use monitoring offers the following features:
- Safe Search
When your child searches for information on the Internet, content from the following categories will be blocked:
- Adult content
- Alcohol, tobacco, narcotics
- Profanity, obscenity
- Extremism, racism
Google (including "Ok Google"), Bing, Mail.ru, Yandex, and Yahoo! search engines are supported. Supported search engines also block search results that do not fit your child’s age.
The Safe Search feature also blocks restricted content if your child's browser is in the private mode (the specific name of this mode depends on the browser).
- Notifications about searches on restricted themes
If your child searches for restricted content, Kaspersky Safe Kids notifies you and highlights such search queries in reports. The categories of your child's search queries are defined by Kaspersky Safe Kids.
This feature is available in the premium version.
- Website category restrictions
You can restrict your child's access to websites that belong to specific categories. For each category, you can set one of the following options:
- Allowed. Your child can visit websites in the category.
- Warn. When your child tries to open a website, Kaspersky Safe Kids notifies your child that visiting the website is not recommended. Your child can heed the warning and leave the website or ignore the warning and go to the website.
- Forbidden. When your child tries to open a website, Kaspersky Safe Kids blocks it and displays a warning window. Your child can select Ask for permission to request access to the forbidden website.
Some website categories are already forbidden according to your child's age.
In Samsung Internet Browser, Kaspersky Safe Kids does not block forbidden websites if these websites are opened in a background tab.
- Specific website restrictions
You can restrict your child's access to specific websites or allow access to a website that belongs to a forbidden category. You can set one of the following options for a website:
- Allowed. Your child can visit the website. Select this option if you need to allow access to a website that belongs to a forbidden category.
- Forbidden. When your child tries to open the website, Kaspersky Safe Kids blocks it and displays a warning window. Your child can select Ask for permission to request access to the forbidden website.
- Reports on your child's activity on the Internet
You can find these reports on My Kaspersky in Kids > Internet > Reports. You can view a list of your child's search queries and visited websites. Websites in forbidden categories are highlighted.
Kaspersky Safe Kids records your child's web browsing history if the Web activity monitoring switch is turned on.
Reports are available only in the premium version of Kaspersky Safe Kids.
You can configure delivery of notifications when your child attempts to visit forbidden or unrecommended websites on My Kaspersky or in the parent's mobile app.
