How to set up two-step verification
To improve the security of your account, you can set up two-step verification. When this feature is enabled, no one can sign in to your account unless they use your password and a one-time security code sent to your mobile phone number or generated in your authenticator app.
After you set up two-step verification, you are responsible for keeping your mobile phone physically secure and for maintaining access to your phone number. If you lose access to your phone number, you might not be able to sign in to your account on My Kaspersky. We recommend that you set up an authenticator app also on a device other than your mobile phone. This will allow you to sign in to your account and use the Anti-Theft features if your mobile phone is ever lost or stolen.
If you've set up two-step verification via an authenticator app, you will be prompted to enter the code from the authenticator app when you sign in to My Kaspersky by default. If you would like to sign in using the code sent via SMS to your phone number instead, click Use code from SMS and enter the code from the SMS.

Set up two-step verification via an authenticator app
At the current time, authenticator apps cannot be used on My Kaspersky as a standalone verification method. You must first set up two-step verification via your mobile phone number. If you turn off two-step verification via your mobile phone number, verification via an authenticator app is turned off automatically. After you have set up both verification via SMS and via an app, you will be able to select a verification method on the sign-in page.
To set up two-step verification via your authenticator app:
- Download and install an authenticator app on your device. You can find the list of app examples here.

If you set up two-step verification, the security question feature will be permanently disabled.
If you use an older Kaspersky application that does not support two-step verification, you might not be able to connect it to your account. You will be notified by email if your application cannot connect. To resolve connection issues, update your applications to the latest version. You can download the latest versions in the Downloads tab.
